[4:43:48 PM] Bobby: Smallville RPG was fantastic by the looks of it. And it’s the same design team, so I have high hopes for a great quality marvel game.
[4:44:17 PM] Bobby: Yeah game can start right at 6:30 PST (9:30 EST). J- can you make that time?
[4:49:45 PM] Justin: Yes
[4:49:56 PM] Justin: I’ll go buy Monsters!
[4:50:10 PM] Justin: The low carb variety
[4:50:33 PM] Justin: How late do you plan to run?
[6:06:46 PM] Bobby: I’m estimating an hour or 2

[6:21:33 PM] Drax: and good evening everyone
[6:24:59 PM] Harkin Crevan: Harkin Crevan waves
[6:26:34 PM] Bobby: just a few minutes away from when I hope to start. Who’s all here?
[6:26:48 PM] Becks: Heeeeeeere!
[6:26:52 PM] Harkin Crevan: here
[6:32:48 PM] Drax: here
[6:33:16 PM] Justin: hi
[6:35:11 PM] Michelle Ma Belle: Hey there…
[6:41:26 PM] Bobby: Okay, let’s do this.
[6:41:47 PM] Drax: Drax is ready
[6:42:18 PM] Narrator: Suit up with name changes folks, for those that want the change. And then i’m going to confirm everyone’s starting location as we get underway.
[6:42:44 PM] Harkin Crevan: k
[6:44:04 PM] Narrator: Here is my overall recap. It will not be fancy.
[6:46:05 PM] Narrator: News of House Erwin’s political manuevering finally came to a head when Lord Dafydd Erwin denounced his ancestors oath of fealty to House Tully before the entire wedding party, leaving Ser Merdraut as the new lord.
[6:47:18 PM] Narrator: This set the party ablaze with chaos, as the Houses of the Riverlands led by Ser Aaron Mallister and Black Walder openly protested the news. Things became heated as the banners of House Erwin attempted to calm the situation.
[6:48:25 PM] Narrator: In an attempt to negotiate peace, Lord Merdraut quickly sent punishment to his father’s oathbreaking, much to Dafydd’s suprise. Dafydd Erwin was to take the black and head north on the morrow.
[6:49:19 PM] Narrator: Unfortunately for Merdraut, this was not enough to clam the angered Aaron Mallister and others. And when Ser Aaron called for Dafydd’s head, his sword came out, as did the song of many others.
[6:50:51 PM] Narrator: Kier is currently placed not too far from his father Kenson, Lord Merdraut and Dafydd. Much to his suprise, a party of angry Mallisters are approaching, ane one has singled Kier out, seemingly charging his way.
[6:52:38 PM] Narrator: Joren has found that a challenger approaches in front of him. It seems to be the betrothed of the Spicer maiden you spoke with the night before. His eyes speak of bloodlust.
[6:54:12 PM] Narrator: Lycoris is faced with a situation is which she has bravely confronted a drunken Frey who has grabbed Lyanna Erwin against her will, and made several inappropriate comments about the things to which he might do to the both of them, and their relatives.
[6:58:09 PM] Narrator: Harkin and Verus were making their way to the banquet hall to gather their parties and exit the hall. They encountered Flora, Darin Forrest and Lady Fiona Sperling were exiting the banquet hall at the same time, and the groups almost collided with one another.
Verus asked where his sister Lucile was, but Darin did not know. In fact, he stated that both Lucile and Ser Imri were missing. Harkin peeked inside the banquet hall.
[6:58:30 PM] Narrator: This should leave everyone where we last left off. Any questions?
[6:58:53 PM] Verus Forrest: ((None here))
[6:59:03 PM] Harkin Crevan: (im good)
[6:59:28 PM] Justin: (g)
[6:59:29 PM] Becks: ((good to go))
[7:00:32 PM] Narrator: Okay, since everyone is close enough at this point to the banquet hall, i’m going to call for an initiative from all parties present.
[7:00:41 PM] Narrator:
[7:00:57 PM] Narrator: Event Setting 1, Session 5: The Bloody Wedding
[7:02:08 PM] Verus Forrest: ((What’s the stats for Initiative))
[7:02:32 PM] Harkin Crevan: (awareness)
[7:03:25 PM] Harkin Crevan: Init: 20
[7:03:53 PM] Narrator: Agility/Quickness.
[7:04:04 PM] Narrator: not awareness.
[7:04:53 PM] Becks: ((Er, die roller username/PW?))
[7:04:53 PM] Harkin Crevan: (oh well thought it was; anyways 16)
[7:05:08 PM] Verus Forrest: ((Initiative 6))
[7:05:28 PM] Flora Sperling: (20)
[7:05:30 PM] Justin: (9)
[7:05:34 PM] Becks: ((ah got it, 14))
[7:08:39 PM] Narrator: (waiting on tishie)
[7:11:02 PM] Narrator: (hodor)
[7:11:16 PM] Kier Graewyn: (( Psh 9 ))
[7:12:12 PM] Narrator: Initiative Order
[7:12:13 PM] Narrator:
[7:12:14 PM] Narrator: Flora: 20
Otto Clifton: 11
*Joren, Kier: 9
Robert Frey: 8
Garon Mallister: 7
[7:13:20 PM] Narrator: Starting at the top, Flora. (Those outside may opt to simply talk or move about in a very short period of time. If you leave the general area, I will pull you out of initiative and into private for the rest of the chaos.)
[7:13:48 PM] Justin: (looks right to me, whats the tie breaker?)
[7:15:16 PM] Narrator: (another roll Justin and Tishie. It goes Tie, then Quickness (you both have the same), then another agility roll. Normally I would have you split it up, but it doesn’t matter to me.)
[7:16:06 PM] Flora Sperling: Flora will continue with her mother toward the Sperling quarters to gather their things and prepare for a hasty departure.
[7:17:53 PM] Justin: (8 on rolloff)
[7:18:29 PM] Verus Forrest: Verus Forrest looks at Flora Sperling and then to the rest of the Northmen, he frowns a moment as he starts to move off after Flora as he heads back toward his Houses encampment speaking as he goes “Lady Flora, you are welcome to travel with myself and my people until we have to continue past your families lands”
[7:18:49 PM] Narrator: Fiona follows Flora quickly. Her own personal guardsmen is tailing at her side.
[7:19:20 PM] Kier Graewyn: ( 9! )
[7:19:41 PM] Narrator: Flora will be exiting intiative this round.
[7:19:45 PM] Narrator: Harkin, you’re up.
[7:19:49 PM] Harkin Crevan: Harkin Crevan looks around for Verus’s sister
[7:19:52 PM] Narrator: Lycoris on deck.
[7:20:03 PM] Becks: Lycoris looks for the nearest available knife. She’d prefer a dagger or stiletto, but even an eating knife will be better than being unarmed.
[7:20:25 PM] Narrator: Give me an awareness/notice roll.
[7:20:41 PM] Harkin Crevan: 11
[7:21:03 PM] Narrator: (i’ll give you the results at the end of this round. Are you stepping inside, Harkin?)
[7:21:06 PM] Becks: ((7, poop))
[7:21:15 PM] Becks: ((Oh derp, that was Harkin))
[7:22:23 PM] Harkin Crevan: (negative on entering)
[7:23:18 PM] Narrator: Lycoris, your search for a dagger is not terribly hard to find, as a House Windham guardsman falls dead before you. It is one of Conrad and Wesley’s cousins, Jerome Windham. His neck is split open and blood pools to his sides. The spear slides out across the floor and his dagger can be seen tucked safely at his belt.
[7:25:52 PM] Becks: Feeling bad about this is something she’s going to have to leave for another time. Lycoris snatches up the dagger, dropping Lyanna’s hand.
[7:30:13 PM] Narrator: *Otto Clifton glares Joren’s way and then grins a big toothy grin as he pulls his longsword from his side. “House Rockfish, hah. You’re a good for nothin’ raider like the rest of ‘em. You aren’t deservin’ to call yourselves houses, you Ironheads and your craven ways. I’m going to make sure there’s one less of y’t’deal with here and now.”
[7:30:22 PM] Narrator: Joren
[7:30:39 PM] Justin: (Should I respond out of turn… or?)
[7:30:51 PM] Narrator: (ah right, sorry)
[7:30:55 PM] Narrator: Kier
[7:30:59 PM] Narrator: (Joren on deck)
[7:36:31 PM] Narrator: (Joren, go ahead. and act at the same time in this case.)
[7:38:21 PM] Justin: (this is a non-combat action, anyway. Maybe an intimidation check?) “Bad manners for a guest to murder someone in his host’s hall. If you come closer…” The Pirate smiles, shurgs, and then draws his blade, “I’ll kill you.” He seems utterly confident in his abilities.
[7:40:40 PM] Justin: (is that persuasion with a bonus for being sinister?)
[7:41:15 PM] Narrator: (you can choose persuasion or deception. This one sounds like persuasion.)
[7:41:31 PM] Narrator: (if you have the intimidate specialty, you can use it.)
[7:41:54 PM] Justin: (I don’t, but I think the sinister benefit does something for intimidate checks? I don’t have the book on my laptop)
[7:42:29 PM] Narrator: (in this case sinister takes away his dice towards attacking or influencing you.)
[7:44:23 PM] Narrator: (sinister gives your opponent a
1d on a persuasion or attack roll against you on ‘the first round of combat’. I am house ruling that on the fly to be ‘on the first round he acts in combat’)-
[7:44:51 PM] Kier Graewyn: (( Sorry, my mother is just… having a very happy birthday ))
[7:45:25 PM] Narrator: (it’s your mom’s birthday? I must’ve missed that part. Happy Birthday to her.)
[7:46:00 PM] Becks: (( XD sounds fun ))
[7:47:30 PM] Narrator: Otto seems to have built up the courage to see this threat through, and though Joren’s most recent words seem more than expected from the bannerman of House Farman, he still seems hesitant to act against Joren.
[7:53:02 PM] Harkin Crevan: .
[7:53:31 PM] Kier Graewyn: Though his father had always insisted that he should never draw his sword unless he was intending to use it, Kier found himself with the weapon in hand and not nearly the conviction that seemed necessary for it. Bravado would have to do where actual courage didn’t yet tread and Kier advanced as the other man moved, hoping his instructors were worth their money as he thrust his blade out. “Honorless cur.”
[7:53:35 PM] Kier Graewyn: (( 15 for stabbity? ))
[7:56:43 PM] Narrator: (hit. what’s your athletics +1?)
[7:58:58 PM] Kier Graewyn: (4 )
[8:04:35 PM] Narrator: Kier’s blade caught Garon Mallister through the stomach as he charged in with his longsword pulled high over his head to hit Kier. His eyes widened as Kiers blade went straight through him, and his muscles tightened to try and keep proper hold of his blade as he dealt with a terribly greivous wound. Blood ran immediately from his mouth, and soaked his padded clothing.
[8:05:48 PM] Narrator: The drunken Robert Frey pulled at Lyanna’s hand and made for the corner of the room that was not far away. She protested with screams and he smacked her hard across the face, pulling her up against the wall and readying to follow through with his threats.
[8:09:06 PM] Narrator: Garon Mallister kept what focus he had left on his longsword that was raised over his head. Though this would could potentially kill him, he did not stop his assault on the one that wounded him. His hands came down, along with his blade; in an attempt to bring Kier down with him. (17. Kier, in your current clothing, what is your combat defense?)
[8:13:01 PM] Narrator: Verus
[8:13:36 PM] Verus Forrest: Verus Forrest looks at Flora Sperling and then to the rest of the Northmen, he frowns a moment as he starts to move off after Flora as he heads back toward his Houses encampment speaking as he goes “Lady Flora, you are welcome to travel with myself and my people until we have to continue past your families lands”
[8:17:09 PM] Kier Graewyn: (10 I think )
[8:19:53 PM] Narrator: (updating the end of this round. Verus and Flora to whisper)
[8:22:19 PM] Narrator: At this point, Ser Aaron Mallister has killed another of House Erwin’s guards, and is facing off with Ser Wesley Windham who carries a spear and shield while acting in guard duties. Kenson Grawyn is fending off two Mallisters trying to get at Lord Merdraut and Dafydd. Conrad Windham faces off against Jason Mallister’s bastard brother, Bradley Rivers.
[8:24:09 PM] Narrator: Harkin scowers the people in the room from left to right, and back again. Amongst the chaos, he is quite certain that Verus’ sister is nowhere to be seen within the banquet hall.
[8:25:26 PM] Narrator: Top of Round 2
[8:26:47 PM] Narrator: Order
[8:26:59 PM] Narrator: (Harkin you may wish to exit combat and join the others)
[8:27:29 PM] Harkin Crevan: Harkin Crevan presses his lips together and turns away from the scene, he plans to gather his wife and men now.
[8:27:51 PM] Narrator: (Harkin exits initiative)
[8:28:15 PM] Narrator: *Lycoris
[8:28:37 PM] Becks: Lycoris’s face hardened, and the dagger was steady and sure in her hands. She didn’t rush, but moved quickly and confidently across the room. Her lips pulled back in a snarl when the Frey hit Lianna. With a hard, calculated thrust she slammed her knife into Robert Frey’s unarmored armpit.
[8:30:18 PM] Becks: ((17 for Stabbin))
[8:31:18 PM] Narrator: (what’s your agility-2?)
[8:31:27 PM] Becks: (( 1))
[8:33:25 PM] Narrator: (becks, add this 1d)
[8:34:50 PM] Becks: ((17+4=21))
[8:38:39 PM] Narrator: Lycoris moves to bury the blade in the Frey’s armpit, but the blade catches slightly on the coils of his his armorments, and the pierce is not perfect. It bites deep into his skin and he groans, letting go of Lyanna immediate. “Ah!” he protests as he stumbles, losing his balance thanks to all the wine. He begins to climb back to his feet, and has not yet caught sight on who stabbed him.*
[8:55:12 PM] Narrator: Otto clashed swords with Joren, and was the first to draw blood, finding a deep gash on Joren’s sword arm. “Hah! You’ll die soon, ironhead!”
[8:56:03 PM] Narrator: Kier
[8:56:06 PM] Narrator: Joren, on deck.
[9:04:44 PM] Kier Graewyn: It wasn’t the pain so much as the surprise of the pain. No. No it was the pain; it was most definitely the pain. Kier pulled his sword free and staggered back – trying to keep his head and keep from panicking despite the sudden warm surge of blood spilling over his clothing – and mostly failing as he swung wild.
[9:04:48 PM] Kier Graewyn: (6 )
[9:10:10 PM] Narrator: Joren
[9:21:59 PM] Justin: He really is just a raider: there’s nothing honorable or ceremonial about his style, which seems to favor brutality and power over finess. He looks his oppened in the eye, and roars, before aiming a deadly slash at the man’s side.
[9:29:28 PM] Narrator: Joren’s slash was true, and just as deep as Otto’s. Otto stepped back and gave a grunt “You bloody fucking raider!”
[9:35:50 PM] Narrator: (Lycoris has to go, so I will add her bit in in a few.)
[9:39:05 PM] Narrator: *As Kier pulls her blade from within Garon Mallister, the blade’s exit of his body seems to be more than enough to finish the man who was acting on adrenaline at that point. (Kier, he is defeated. You may choose his defeat. Options are Death, Maimed, Ransom, Take the Black, Unconcious. More on page 161 of the book)
[9:40:28 PM] Narrator: Back to the top for Round 3.
[9:47:37 PM] Narrator: (We’ll say Kier’s encounter is over with.)
[9:48:44 PM] Narrator: Otto manages to catch Joren on the calf this time, a deep gash. He grunts to speak, but grins. “Are you ready for your end, Ironhead?”
[9:53:54 PM] Narrator: Joren
[10:01:04 PM] Kier Graewyn: .
[10:01:10 PM] Verus Forrest: ((hehe))
[10:03:07 PM] Narrator: (I think I lost Justin.)
[10:03:17 PM] Flora Sperling: (Maybe he fell asleep again…)
[10:03:26 PM] Narrator: (He probably fell asleep. It’s later than I wanted this to go, by a lot.)
[10:03:49 PM] Narrator: I’m going to assume he bests Otto, but it’ll be close.
[10:05:49 PM] Narrator: The outcome of the wedding knight is very bloody. Ser Aaron Mallister killed several guards, including Wesley Windham before he met his end to Wesley’s lord-brother Conrad. Kenson Grawyn was cut badly in the battle, but managed to come out with only a grievous wound that seemed to be more of the permanent type.
[10:06:57 PM] Narrator: Gerrit Sperling was found unconcious amongst the fighters, bleeding and looking worse for wear. When Flora dragged him out, and his wounds were seen to, it seemed far more superficial cuts and swelling than any real danger, leaving him the less wounded of the two Sperling brothers.
[10:08:05 PM] Narrator: Lycoris and Hew Erwin finished off Robert Frey. Huw killed him after Lycoris saved Hew from what would’ve been a fatal blow.
[10:09:22 PM] Narrator: End of Event Setting 1.
[10:09:48 PM] Narrator: I’ll be posting the logs sometime this weekend.
[10:10:53 PM] Narrator: I’ll be holding a contest over the course of the next four weeks. I am looking for a recap synopsis touching on the major points of the first event setting. All entries will be worth 2 xp. The winner earns 10 xp.
[10:11:24 PM] Verus Forrest: so an overall event setting recap sort of thing?
[10:11:57 PM] Narrator: Yep.
[10:13:01 PM] Verus Forrest: k
